Good morning, all you lovely folks. How was your weekend? Our weekend was quite quiet as most of our family are away either holidaying or mini-honeymooning!
We spent Saturday morning doing the weekly grocery shop at Aldi in preparation for the week ahead. Saturday afternoon saw a visit from A’s sister, brother-in-law and 3 year old niece and we all went to the fair. Poor O was so excited to go, but refused to go on any of the rides! We ended up at the nearby play park to console him and enjoyed a chippy tea with the money we saved…
Sunday saw a morning of cooking soup, stew and banana bread and an afternoon of visiting Pops, S’s dad, where we were treated to some homemade crumble made with freshly fallen apples from the trees in their garden.
So, our shop at Aldi came in at around £55. We had quite a lot of meat already in the freezer so here goes… Our list for this week is:
Monday : Pork chops with mashed potatoes and vegetables
Tuesday : Cottage pie, recipe here
Wednesday : Macaroni cheese with garlic bread and peas
Thursday : Rump steak with baked potato and vegetables
Friday : Pizza with garlic bread, chips and garlic mushrooms
Saturday : Sausage, mashed potatoes and peas
Sunday : Gammon and egg with baked potato with peas or beans
Our lunches will consist of leftovers from the previous night, homemade soup or pasta with homemade vegetable sauce. Failing that, a good old-fashioned cheese and chutney sarnie!!
I’m really looking forward to taking part in the linky set up by At Home with Mrs M, reading other’s meal plans and getting some inspiration for our recipe book!!
