Happy birthday to you,
Squashed tomatoes and stew,
You look like a monkey,
Aaaaaand you smell like one too!!
I can’t believe it. O turns 3 this week.
It doesn’t seem like yesterday that he was a teeny, tiny, squishy, 9lb 12oz, newborn baby. And now he’s a walking, talking, tantrumming toddler. Full of giggles, cheek, imagination and fun.
In his first three years, he’s experienced a lot; two family holidays abroad, two family holidays to Cornwall, several weddings (including that of his awesome parents) and moved house.
For his 1st and 2nd birthdays, we had small parties in our old house with family and close friends to celebrate. The kids played with Os toys and loved sitting at the dining table eating party food. We’ve ordered his cakes from local bakeries and O was thrilled to hear everyone singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song just for him.
This year, we’re holding a private party at a local soft play centre. 24 children aged between 6 months and 7 years old! We must be mad doing this, but it seems less stressful! The price of the party includes food for all the kids, so that relieves a lot of stress from us on the day.
We’ve ordered his cake and even made up party bags. All that’s left to do is bake cupcakes for the kids to take home so that we can use his cake again on his birthday which is the following day.
And so his presents are gift wrapped and have been sent away to the birthday fairies to deliver on his birthday.
Now we play the waiting game…
What did you do for your littlies early birthdays? Or what do you plan to do to celebrate?
