Donna over at Redhead Babyled tagged me in the New Year Tag, so here goes…
What was your highlight of 2014?
This year, my highlight has been our family holiday to Lara Beach at Antalya, Turkey. It was such an amazing holiday, and boy were we ready for it! We spent a fortnight with A’s family in a wonderful hotel where we didn’t want for anything. The holiday had such a relaxing effect on me, enjoying a Turkish bath, spending time in the spa, playing and teaching O how to swim in the pool and I even took him on the water slides! The beach was amazing boasting sheltered gazebos with butler service, even if the sand did burn my feet more than once… The staff were fabulous, the kids were more than catered for and the food was to die for. An absolutely wonderful time was had by all and I felt like a new woman when we returned.
What are you excited for in 2015?
I’m excited for the continuation of the Mental Parentals blog and the wonderful opportunities that arise in the world of blogging. I’m also really looking forward to my brother’s wedding in Las Vegas in November, and A’s cousins wedding in Alicante in August. We’ll even be in Alicante for our 3rd wedding anniversary, so we’ll have a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary too. O is excited for starting “big school” in September too, although I don’t want my baby to grow up!
Any new year resolutions?
Not really, other than to get back into the swing of a healthy lifestyle again. After our holiday, it kind of fell by the wayside and I’ve struggled to pull myself together since. I would also like to spend more time blogging as I find it a great therapy!
I’ve really enjoyed the whole blogging experience, but I was quite surprised at how many responses I had to a post I wrote about Why I’m not saving for O’s Uni Fees. It’s lovely to know that I’m not alone in the way I see the world and my parenting views.
Picture of the year?
This was a hard one – I’ve chosen a picture taken at Christmas this year as I think it captures O’s excitement, joy and happiness all in one. And to think that we put that smile there, helped him grow into the little man he is right now, is an amazing thought. Love this dude with all my heart.
I’m not going to tag anyone specifically in this as it’s nearly the end of the year now, so if anyone would like to take part, leave me a link in the comments so I can take a look!
