Me and Mine – January 2015

On New Years Day, I wrote about how 2014 was the year I started to blog seriously and how I plan to develop and take blogging more seriously in 2015.  I have recently moved to a self-hosted platform where I can share my little life with you all – and I’m so glad I did it!  With that comes the intention to take part in more Linky’s and so I have decided to join in with the Me and Mine Linky which is held over at Dear Beautiful.  I love the idea of taking regular family photographs – something that we haven’t done enough of in the past, so this will help to change that!

Me and Mine Family Photograph January 2015

This January has seen a handful of family birthdays.  This months family photograph was taken at a local hotel to which we visited for Sunday Lunch to celebrate my Mums and Nanas’ birthdays.  We all got a little dressed up and really enjoyed spending the afternoon with family.  O has been full of cold for a good amount of the month which was really pants, but we have managed to go swimming and play plenty of games inside together.

This month, I visited Manchester for a girly weekend away with a couple of great friends.  I picked up Donna and Mummy Muncher from the airport and we spent two nights in an apartment in the city centre and enjoyed some good food, great conversation and a spa day.  It’s the first time we’ve all been together in the same room, although we’ve met each other before, and it was as if we spent months together previously!  I love these girls!

January has also seen the start (or re-start) of our clean eating changes to our lifestyle.  Hubby has started attending a gym 2 or 3 times a week which, alongside the changes in diet, has helped him lose 18lbs so far!  I am so proud of him – such a superstar!  We have found that keeping to a plan helps, and so I share our weekly meal plan on a Monday in the hope to inspire others.

O has loved being back at pre-school with his friends and learning more each day.  He manages to surprise me every day with new things he’s learned and I’m extremely proud of his enthusiasm for learning.  He is still making his way through his new toys and games that he received at Christmas too which is proving fun!  Play Doh and a new tool bench are his favourite things at the moment!

I’ve linked this post up with Dear Beautiful for Me and Mine.

  1. Oh what a lovely picture, it’s always nice to dress up and celebrate birthdays together and you look like you were having a lovely time to match a smashing start to the year!

  2. Ahhh lovely family snapshot here for January. And way to go you both on your clean living restart. I really need to get my butt in gear and do something I haven’t exercised and have been eating bad for awhile now and it’s starting to show. I just started juicing so I am hoping that helps. Good luck. And look forward to seeing another great family capture next month! #meandmine

    1. Aww, thanks Amber! O actually looks like me when I was his age, but he does look so much like his Dad too! It’s quite strange!

  3. Aww, love the photo, it’s always nice to have an excuse to get a little bit dressed up. And I’m so glad that you’re planning to join us for Me and Mine fun this year, it’s definitely a great prompt to make sure we take photos all together more often. Thanks so much for linking up with Me and Mine. x
