Meal Planning Monday- 16/02/2015

This last week has been… ok…  Our Meal Plan has more or less been as planned, with a couple of minor changes.  Those being the dreaded TAKEAWAY.  However, this week I plan to be a lot more organised!!  Valentines Day was really lovely though; we really enjoyed the meal that we cooked together!

We are continuing to monitor our weight loss and it is still going strong!  Although this week has been a bit of a blip for both of us, with A not getting to the gym as much and our lack of organisation meaning that we’ve resorted to a couple of takeaways.

We are in the process of trying to use up some of the things that are in the freezer – albeit, one of the freezer drawers is almost completely filled with homemade soup.  Meal planning is such an easy way to help with this!  As with last week, I’m mixing it up and trying some new recipes this week; namely the Cauliflower Curry, Cajun Chicken and Tuna Steak.  So here’s our plan for next week.

Day Breakfast Dinner Tea
Mon Bacon Poached Egg and Tomatoes Leftover Pork Jambalaya Cauliflower Curry & Rice
Tue Beans on Toast Leftover Curry Tuna Steak with Lemon & Chilli & Pasta
Wed Porridge with Banana and Honey Homemade Soup Beef Stroganoff with Rice
Thu Bacon Sandwich Leftover Stroganoff Harissa Chicken with Bulgar Wheat
Fri Bacon Poached Egg and Mushrooms Leftover Harissa Chicken Cajun Chicken with Potato Wedges
Sat Bacon Sandwich on Wholemeal Bread Homemade Soup Slow Cooked Beef Stew
Sun Boiled Eggs and Soldiers Tagliatelle Carbonara Sunday Roast

  1. Looks great! It’s difficult to meal plan and use bits from the freezer. So good job! Iv managed to actually plan 4 days this week. Which is an accomplishment!! I will get a whole week soon!

    1. Thanks Martyn! I find using bits from the freezer quite easy to meal plan – it’s just remembering to defrost it first!

  2. Fab plan, it all sounds lovely. I too have a stash of soups into the freezer, they are ideal for cold winter days x

    1. Thank you! Stash of soups etc in the freezer is a great way to save money too when there’s nothing fresh in to cook! x

    1. Thank you! I can’t wait to have the tuna steaks! Thinking of pushing that forward to tonight!
