Despite not having blogged a meal plan last week, we did stick to what we had planned pretty well. I didn’t get around to blogging the plan as we were away on Monday, down to Manchester for A’s birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed a meal at Mr Cooper’s House and Garden in the Midland Hotel, where we stayed the night. It was fabulous, and the staff even provided a complimentary glass of dessert wine to help A celebrate his birthday! It was a great experience. We then came home Tuesday, ate leftover Spaghetti Bolognase from the weekend and I did a small shop at Aldi on Wednesday. Wednesday saw Bean & Vegetable Chilli, Thursday was Pizza night for O and I, and Friday was Cottage Pie night.
I’m planning on doing some batch cooking this week to fill up the freezer with nutritious family meals in preparation for baby arriving in the next few weeks. Cottage Pie and Chicken Saag are both on my ‘to do’ list, and I’ll probably make up a batch of Bolognese sauce too.
This week, it’s half term so O is at home all week which I’m really looking forward to. He was very ready for a break, and it’s our last opportunity to spend some quality time together before baby arrives. So our meal plan for the week is pretty flexible. A goes into hospital for a minor op on Thursday so will have to make sure we’ve got plenty of friendly foods for him too!
Monday – Tuna Steak with Spaghetti, Broccoli and Lemon
Tuesday – Bangers and Mash
Wednesday – Chicken Chow Mein
Thursday – Pasta Bolognase
Friday – Chicken Hotpot
Saturday – Homemade Burgers
As usual, I’m linking up to Meal Planning Monday linky hosted by www.athomewithmrsm.com!
Ahhh so hungry! Not too different from our meal plan this week, I think i’m gonna have to start posting it on my blog too, hopefully give other people some inspiration! x
Great meal choices. I really fancy bangers and mash for tea tonight!
this sounds like a great linky – I am always meal planning. your meals sound yummy!
Great choices for this week’s meals. I keep saying that I need to start sharing our meal plans.
I also need to do some batch cooking this week. Going to make a large batch of toddler friendly (no salt, etc) ratatouille today.

I haven’t planned any meals this week whoops! I love the sound of chicken chow mein though! I may have to make that too!

It sounds like you have a great week of meals planned! I like the sound of the Tuna Steak x
Tuna steak!!! Ooooo I can’t wait to get my kitchen back! x
We so need to do this more. It makes a HUGE difference when we’ve already planned what we’re having and bought everything in prepared. Looks like a great week ahead for you. Chicken chow mein sounds yummy.
I need to start this again – I love the variety that you have. It always feels so much better to know what you are eating each night. Now I have some mince in so I might sneak your burgers onto my menu!
I really need to get in the habit of meal planning! I manage to eat much healthier that way! We had chicken chow mein for dinner tonight – it’s one of my favourites! xx
I haven’t heard of this link but I’m definitely going to join in! I was just saying to hubby about doing to batch cooking for the freezer before baby number 2 arrives. Lasagne and Shepherds pie will be on my list to cook! xx
