Legends, Joggers and Pharrell – #LittleLoves

I caught a cold last weekend and have spent most of the week fighting it off.  Hubs was fab on Monday and, despite a really late return from work, cooked our dinner and brought it to me in bed where I’d fallen asleep.  We’ve also had Q’s first immunisations this week, and a follow-up appointment at the Audiology clinic for O after he was diagnosed with Glue Ear back in February.  All is now fine, thankfully.

This week, I stumbled across a post by Harriet at TobyandRoo.com that couldn’t have resonated more with me.  Harriet received a letter from her son’s school health team about his weight.  Her response is excellent.  I recently received something very similar and have chosen to disregard it – Harriet’s response is everything I would say too.

Watched

I know, I watch a million different dramas…  And this week, I’ve started watching Legends Season 1 on catch-up as I have Season 2 recording.  Starring the legend (see what I did there – hehe) that is Sean Bean.  It’s made by the creators of Homeland, which is an amazing programme in itself and the sole reason for my choosing to watch Legends.  I’m almost finished Season 1 and it’s really good.  Can’t wait to start Season 2!

I’ve been cooking some really scrumptious meals lately, if I do say so myself.  We’ve had oven-baked salmon with garlic and chilli, and lemon and rosemary chicken with potato salad.  I’m really enjoying having the time to think about meals and food, developing a larger range of meals that we enjoy instead of getting into the routine of having the same meals each week.

Wore

I’ve been living in my joggers this week as I try to get over this terrible cold!  Nothing interesting, I’m afraid…

Heard

On Wednesday, the morning after Q’s vaccinations, I was in the shower when I could hear hubs playing this track.  O is a big fan of the Despicable Me films, so loves Pharrell Williams – Happy.  He was dancing around our bedroom and Q was smiling, attempting to laugh and dancing along (if babies can dance).  It was a moment of Happy!

and Lastly…

O has had a great week, enjoying a playdate at his friends house on Tuesday and he’s so excited for the same friend to come to ours after school today.  He’s settled in at school so well and always talks about his many friends at school.  Hubs is back today after a night away last night so we’re all looking forward to seeing him.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. “Happy” will never get boring! Both of mine still jump up when it comes on the radio! Will have to give the post a read by Harriet, I was told over the phone I had an overweight child {she wasn’t no where near} So frustrating an upsetting at the same time.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend xx

  2. So glad that everything is ok with O glue ear. Your meal looks lovely, and I must admit I seem to be stuck in a meal rut at the moment. I definitely need a good shake up and try new meals. Hope you have recovered from your cold, and sounds as if the hubby has been looking after you all. Have a great week x

  3. I’m glad O’s ear is ok now and he is enjoying school. That meal looks delicious. Enjoy your weekend. I hope you are fully recovered from your cold.

  4. Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather, hope you’re feeling better this weekend? Great to hear about O’s glue ear, it’s a weight off isn’t it?

The chicken dish looks delicious, we love to meal plan and try and vary our weekly meals so we don’t get bored with the same old stuff.

Hope you have a great week 🙂 x

  5. ‘Happy’ certainly lives up to it’s name, I absolutely adore that song, and it’s a real wee summer song too I think. Also loving the sound of your dinner’s, it’s so easy to get stuck in a rut, so good for you!
    Hope you feel better soon.

  6. Whenever my youngest hears Happy she always giggles and dances – it’s just such a fun song isn’t it?
That meal does look delicious. It’s great having lots of dishes up your sleeve to do during the week, I get stuck in a meal rotating rut far too often.
Hope you’ve had a great week this week xx
