Sunshine, Skirts and Double Denim – #LittleLoves

This week started so beautifully with sunshine cracking the flags.  We spent the weekend running errands as a family; going shopping, visiting grandparents and washing the cars.  Hubs has been away for the last couple of days so the boys and I have been chilling out after school with easy teas and the television.

Retraining after being Mummy

This week, lovely blogger Hannah shared how she’s retraining for a career after becoming a single mother to her gorgeous little boy.  Hannah suffers with chronic illness and that, along with her responsibilities as a single mum, limits her opportunities.  Wishing her all the best in finding the perfect job!  And wishing her little boy a speedy recovery after his accident earlier this week.

Last night, Billions started on Sky Atlantic and so I thought I’d give it a watch.  It was fantastic!  I love Damian Lewis so much after seeing him in the first few series of Homeland and he didn’t disappoint as the leading character, Bobby, here.  It’s available on catch up if you fancy it!

O and I made some delicious Banana Gingerbread with some overripe bananas we had sat in the fruit bowl.  I usually use them up by making a Banana and Walnut Bread but fancied a change.  It was really yummy and perfect as a treat with a brew or as a pudding with custard.

I’ve been wearing shorts, skirts and sandals this week!  Long may it last!  I took myself shopping with my birthday money on Saturday and bought a few bits and pieces in H&M.

Hubs and I have been playing ‘Name that Tune’ whilst I’ve been feeding Q between O’s bedtime and Q falling asleep around 9pm.  We put on a playlist on Amazon Prime and he has surprised me with how vast his music knowledge is!  I can generally name the artist, but less frequently the title of the song.  One rare gem that came out was this double-denim classic.  I named that tune within seconds…

and Lastly…

We’ve had a lovely relaxing week this week, and I’ve been on a roll getting organised with my blogs.  I’ve created a media kit, scheduled posts well into next week and even got back into the swing with the Eat Your Heart Out food blog I edit with Donna and Pamela.  Feeling very bloggy proud at the moment!  Next week is a busy one with a hospital appointment for O, Q’s first set of immunisations and a couple of playdates.  All in the name of fun!

What have you been up to this week?

  1. Banana gingerbread actually sounds quite nice. I attempted banana bread last week, but something went wrong, so I need to tweak my recipe, or pay better attention. Congratulations on being organised, something I strive for. Have a great weekend.

Fab news to hear you’re more organised, share your tips! I need all the help I can get x

  5. We enjoyed Billions too. My husband works in the finance sector so he’s always wary of films and programmes based on it but we enjoyed the first one and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. Hope you’ve had a good week this week xx
