Hello and welcome to Bloggers Best Bits! This is a brand new blog series sharing some of the best blog posts out there in the ether. I’ve asked bloggers to get in touch and share their favourite, or their reader’s favourite, blog post. So much goes into writing a good blog, and we should be proud of what we have! Today, I welcome Nicki from Sensory Sensitive Mummy…
Who are you and where do you blog?
Hi I’m Nicki, I am a 33 year – old mum to 2 beautiful girls aged 18 months and 4 years. I blog at Sensory Sensitive Mummy.
I started blogging in March 2016 after my eldest daughter was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) I wanted to spread awareness of SPD in the UK, as it is more widely known in the USA. I blog about parenting in general and parenting a child with additional needs and I’ve recently started product reviews.
What is your most successful/favourite blog post?
My most successful blog post to date is one I wrote in July 2016 titled: ‘A Sensory Diet.’
Give us a taster… What’s it about?
This post included my own personal understanding of what I have researched Sensory Processing Disorder to be, and includes our own journey and day-to-day experiences. I included activities ideas for sensory or ‘messy’ play activities, that we have found successful.
What inspired you to write this post?
This post was written on the subject that is very poignant to my daughter’s diagnosis, it included research that I’ve done in the past 6 months. I aimed to write this post to help inform other parents who may be going through the same experiences.
What makes this your most successful/favourite post?
This post gave me my highest ever stats (page views) in the past 6 months. I joined up with some Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Linkies and this post was shared by other parents who have children with additional needs. I also received shares via Twitter and my Facebook page for this post, and got some very positive comments on my blog.
Where can we find you?
