Q-Bo. Q-Bot. Little Beau Q. Just some of your nicknames that you are affectionately called by your dad, O and I. You are such a ray of sunshine and now you’re 8 months old!
In your last update, I mentioned that we had a few exciting things planned – and what a month it has been! You have travelled so many places in your short 8 months, you really are so very lucky. This last month, we went to stay with friends and you had your first experience in your travel cot. We have one where the height of the base can be altered which is awesome for my back! The only thing was that it wobbled slightly when you were moving around and, as you weren’t used to it at first, it took a little while to settle you on your first night. You were fine after that though – probably because you were just so tired!
Whilst we were there, we visited Legoland and you were happily pushed around in your pram most of the day. You loved the fireworks too, despite crying due to tiredness up to the point they started. You were amazed by the sparkling lights in the dark night sky.
After our stay, we made the trip on the Eurostar train under the English Channel to Disneyland Paris. It was your first trip on a train, and what a special journey to make! You were really good, sitting on my knee and playing with toys for the two-hour journey. Disneyland was just one huge stimulation for your senses, with music playing and so many things to see.
We took you on a couple of the rides, one you managed to fall asleep during, but you mainly stayed in your pushchair. You did like meeting the characters though. You even tried to take Woody from Toy Story home with us!
While we were away, you didn’t really eat an awful lot as you hated the high chairs. I think the tray was too high and you found them quite uncomfortable. Anyway, since we’ve been home you’ve been trying all sorts of different foods. You absolutely love strawberries. I fear you may turn into one! You’ve also tried (and enjoyed) broccoli, raspberries, peas and bananas. You’re still not great at chewing the food up – we’ve tried hard boiled eggs which didn’t go down well so we’re sticking to softer food at the moment until you’ve got the hang of it.
You’re getting to be a proper grown up baby now too! Just a couple of days ago, I sorted through your wardrobe and drawers and took out all the 6-9 months clothes as they’re (mostly) too small for you now. You love your leggings and joggers – you just want to be comfy! We’ve been getting most of your clothes for H&M as their baby range is just so cute, stylish and reasonably priced.
I can’t believe we’re heading quickly into your first Christmas! I’m sorry that you didn’t have a costume for your first Halloween, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me after a great trip to Legoland and Disneyland instead!
Love you lots like jelly tots, from Mummy xxx
